Evan Low is a partner at Cassels Brock & Blackwell LLP. His practice is focused on Canadian and international securities offerings, corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, and general corporate matters. Evan assists clients across a broad range of sectors, including real estate, oil and gas exploration and development, oilfield services, mining, construction, agriculture, cannabis and technology. Evan offers extensive experience representing both agents and underwriters in financings and initial public offerings, as well as issuers in brokered and non-brokered private placements, public offerings, take-over bids and plans of arrangements. He also offers experience in both asset and share purchase and sale transactions and regularly advises on compliance matters respecting securities legislation, stock exchange rules and corporate governance. Evan has acted as corporate secretary for both TSX and TSX-V listed companies, advising on various matters including the preparation and filing of public disclosure documentation. He has also advised boards and senior executives on compliance matters respecting securities and corporate legislation.

His recent experience in the cannabis industry includes advising on a private U.S. cross-border investment in the cannabis-infused beverage industry, the listing of a cannabis-focused investment company on the Canadian Securities Exchange, and the incorporation, growth and financing of a private cannabis producer.

Stuart Blyth is a partner in the Real Estate & Development Group of Cassels Brock & Blackwell LLP. Stuart has experience with respect to a broad range of real estate matters under both the Land Titles Act (Alberta) and the Public Lands Act (Alberta), with a focus on pipeline and midstream real estate matters, telecommunications real estate matters, land assembly for development purposes, leasing, project financing, water rights, compliance with the Foreign Ownership of Land Regulations of Alberta, commercial and residential subdivisions, development and planning matters, and the acquisition and disposition of lands. His practice regularly brings him into contact with municipalities and other governmental and regulatory authorities, including the Alberta Utilities Commission, Alberta Environment and Parks, the Alberta Energy Regulator, the Foreign Ownership Land Administration and the Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis Commission. 

With respect to the cannabis industry, recent experience includes leasing matters, zoning, planning and development matters relating to the acquisition of retail cannabis locations for cannabis clients as well as leasing matters and financing matters for a cannabis producer.
